ALTA surveys are prepared in accordance with special standards developed by the American Land Title Association (ALTA). These surveys are most often ordered to reconcile title exceptions prior to the transfer or sale of commercial properties.
ALTA surveys document existing conditions with respect to site improvements, easements, right-of-ways, and other elements impacting the ownership of land. In addition to the minimum standards set forth within the ALTA requirements, clients have an avenue to choose a more comprehensive survey by electing additional survey options within Table “A” of said requirements.
Performing an ALTA survey requires a meticulous survey and submittal process necessary for the transference of a land title. Property corners, buildings, easements, improvements, etc. are located and recorded per standards specific to rules governing land transactions.
