ALTA Surveys

A survey is not necessarily ‘one size fits all’. This is particularly true for boundary surveys. Thus, the need for what is referred to as an “ALTA” Survey.

ALTA surveys are surveys that are prepared in accordance with special standards developed by the American Land Title Association (ALTA). These surveys are most often ordered to reconcile title exceptions prior to the transfer or sale of commercial properties.

ALTA surveys

ALTA surveys document existing conditions with respect to site improvements, easements, right-of-ways, and other elements impacting the ownership of land. In addition to the minimum standards set forth within the ALTA requirements, clients have an avenue to choose a more comprehensive survey by electing additional survey options within Table “A” of said requirements.

The professional Field Surveyors at Cannon & Cannon have many years of experience preparing ALTA surveys, and in fact, are prepared for many projects and transactions throughout the year. We recognize that coordination and good communication on the front end between the surveyor, owner, lender and title-company will pay dividends at the closing table.

Experience counts. To learn more about our long history of providing ATLA surveys please contact Bob Lusby our Director of Field Surveying. You can email him directly simply by clicking on his picture at the right.
